FAQs
What services do you offer?
1
I offer speech and language services through evaluations and treatment. Services are currently offered at your preferred location and via teletherapy.
Do you provide other therapies?
2
At this time, Beyond Words Speech Therapy only provides speech, language, and cognitive therapy.
Do you take insurance?
I am in the process of being credentialed with insurances and Medicaid MCOs.
Until I am credentialed, Beyond Words Speech Therapy is a private-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service and can be made by credit card or check. Superbills are available upon request for families who wish to seek potential out-of-network reimbursement from their insurance provider.

Private Pay vs Insurance
Why private pay? Choosing a private-pay model allows Beyond Words Speech Therapy to focus on what matters most: your child’s individual needs and goals—not insurance requirements.
If your insurance plan has a deductible, you may be responsible for paying the full allowed cost of services out-of-pocket until your deductible is met. Depending on your plan, this can mean that you are paying for services yourself before your insurance begins contributing toward covered care.
Insurance plans may place limitations on speech therapy, including the number of sessions covered, the types of services considered eligible for reimbursement, or the duration of treatment. Insurance companies may also require specific diagnoses or documentation of medical necessity, which may not always align with a child’s individual communication needs.
By not contracting directly with insurance companies, we are able to:
Individualize therapy based on your child’s unique strengths, needs, and goals
Provide services without insurance-imposed limitations on the frequency or durationof therapy
Make clinical decisions based on your child’s needs and evidence-based practice, rather than insurance coverage criteria
Offer transparent, straightforward pricing without unexpected insurance-related costs or coverage changes
Provide the time, flexibility, and support needed to help your child make meaningful progress
For some families, using insurance may be the best financial option, while others may prefer the flexibility and individualized care offered through private pay. We encourage families to review their individual insurance benefits and determine what option works best for their family.
Our goal is simple: to provide high-quality, individualized speech-language therapy without allowing insurance limitations to determine the care your child receives.

Attendance, Cancellation, and No-Show Policies
7
At Beyond Words Speech Therapy, we offer reserved appointment times to provide consistency and continuity of care. Your child will be scheduled for the same day and time each week whenever possible. To maintain a reserved appointment time, families are expected to attend at least 80% of scheduled sessions. Consistent attendance is essential for your child’s progress and allows us to provide the most effective therapy possible.
I understand that life happens—children get sick, emergencies arise, and schedules can change. If you need to cancel an appointment, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice whenever possible by phone, text, or email. In emergency situations (such as sudden illness, a family emergency, or a death in the family), please provide as much notice as possible.
Make-Up Sessions: When possible, we are happy to work with families to reschedule missed sessions or provide teletherapy (for families located in Tennessee). Completed make-up sessions will not count against your attendance rate.
Late Cancellations & No-Shows: A late cancellation is a non-emergency cancellation made less than 24 hours of the scheduled appointment. A no-show occurs when a family does not notify the clinic before the scheduled appointment time or arrives more than 15 minutes late. Missed sessions without appropriate notice will be directly billed a $50 fee. Frequent late cancellations or more than 3 no-shows may result in a transition to a flexible scheduling option or discontinuation of services.
Scheduling Options: If a reserved weekly appointment time does not meet your family’s needs, week-to-week scheduling may be available; however, appointment availability and consistency cannot be guaranteed. If attendance falls below the required 80%, the reserved appointment time may be released, and families may transition to a flexible schedule.
